Keep an eye on this site, I raced rounds 3,4 this year and they were around catterick & scotch corner sort of area there very well organised plus these guys organised the national xc champs this year

Not wanting to tread on Hel's toes but the innerleithen enduros are pretty different to the other events being talked about here. They are absolutely brilliant mind but not the same sort of riding as your standard endurance XC event- much more emphasis on technical riding rather than covering distance. Not wanting to put you off, I'd recommend it to any decent bike handler but it might not be what you're looking for.

Unless the next ones are different to the previous ones? Hope not!

Good good good another racer, might resurrect the racing post for 2012 as long as the non racing types don't keep moaning.

And while all the non racing types aren't looking.....what's the point of all this great kit if you don't race, just MO like.

No more racing mountainbikes for me....it's all about the road next year.Mtb for fun, road for pain/misery/self loathing.
How hard can becoming cat2 at nearly 40 be really ๐Ÿ˜ฏ
(don't tell me.....I'm still in denial).

Road for me as well from early March. Got a low key local XC series I might do if it's dry.

But I'd say quite tough, are you 3rd already though?

At 52 I work on how far from the back I finish ๐Ÿ˜ฅ

With a new circuit not far from me my cat3 points came pretty (too) easily, though more from bravery and big elbows than outright fitness.I expect the difficulty to increase exponentially!!

Guy in our club got his 1st cat a few years ago as a vet. May have just been while it was still only 100 points though.

One of the locals got cat1 (with a bye) in his first season, promoted to elite in his second and was 23rd in the bcf rankings in his 3rd!!
And he's in his late 40's I think ๐Ÿ˜ฏ

Looking to pop over to Belgium for a Saturday & Sunday road racing session. Fed up with airfields and trading estates.
Got another thread going.....any pointers?

Have a peek on the British Cycling website, that lists a fair few races.

There we go, back on topic ๐Ÿ™‚

yes the main course for the Brownbacks series isn't technical at all, tbh you could do it all on a CX bike, the three teams of MRT first aiders never have to assist a rider for anything more than a broken fingernail ๐Ÿ˜‰

'Scuse me, but where did I say those other events have no technical challenge? They're just less technical- no need to take the pip.
