Quieter alternatives to Cut Gate

I was going to do Cut Gate out and back solo from Fairholmes tomorrow (dark peak guide route) but suspect it'll be heaving with walkers given the forecast.  Any quieter alternatives or do it anyway?

I've not been for a while but I've never found the Cut Gate path particularly busy with walkers, probs because it's so hard to work into a loop. Fairholmes will be heaving, but once you're away from there you'll probably be grand. Long as you're there early enough to park.

Other than the bottom of the Langsett side around North America, it's never that busy - doing an out and back on foot is a pretty long hike for most people.

The main problem with the Cut Gate has been other mountain bikers rather than walkers last time I did it. I much prefer the Jacob's Ladder loop from Edale.

Done that a few times now. Will give CG a go, thanks all.

Agree with everyone above. Rarely see many walkers on it
