if it's got a 16t sprocket on the back.
So my Mrs Eye can use my Soloist when we're out with the baby.
Will this work?
The riding will be mostly canal paths and bridal ways so nothing 'testing'.
I don't see why not?
I didn't know you could get a 16T Alfine sprocket
I run 32t up front and 18t at the rear and works fine for pennine riding so canal paths will be easy

It won't be an Alfine sprocket, IIRC it'll probably be a Nexus sproket. But they fit each others hubs.
Yes!
I run 36/18 in Hillville, Wales, and for me it's about right - don't spin out too much on roads, bottom gear will get up anything (tho admittedly I do say that about my SS too)

When I had mine I had 34/18 and 32/18 and it was all fine and dandy. Then I just went to 32/17 SS and it was better.
Also resident in Hillsville, Wales.
The soloist is 32/17 when SS but I want the option of gears for when the baby seat is on and I'm out with the Mrs.
18t will be fine I think for my needs.
I just wanted to make sure I didn't have to buy a larger chain ring as most standard Alfine setups seem to have a 38t chainset.
My Soloist is running 34:20 with the Alfine. Was 34:18 as an SS previously.
