Give them an email, sounds like they have processed your order and will ship as soon as stock is in.

Didn't realise, until I fiddled about (then read the instructions), you can take out old pads and load new pads (from the top) without having to take the wheel off, brilliant.

😳 I've had two sets of xt shimano brakes over 7 years, never realised, I've always put them in from the other direction, after taking the wheel off.

I had problems with my voucher too so I ordered anyway and put sent them an email to say the app wasn't working. They emailed back to say try again and the app worked but when I sent them the code it had been used a week before so I didn't get it.
I was ordering XT trail pedals not the brakes so without the discount the price wasn't so good. 😥 Did get a nice mug though

Hi folks. Just ordered a set of black m785 xt brakes (in stock again now). Paid for them with paypal and somehow have ony paid £105 rather than £135. Not sure if its to do with currency conversion. Anyway give it a go. Seems to work out cheaper - BARGAIN!!!

^ Have you had an email from Rose to confirm the order? I think it might be a glitch with their website, as it's trying to bill you €118. When you check your order history there's no record of it being placed.

I ordered some too (thanks obg) and was also charged £105 from Paypal. Order appeared on Rose bikes account the next day, after I'd contacted them to ask where it was. Email this morning from customer services said they'd be dispatched tomorrow. Hopefully before too many people take advantage and they realise their mistake...

Yup, looks like things are even cheaper than before! I'd been holding off buying the xt brakes, partly because I couldnt decide what colour I wanted.

Just picked up a set of xtr m988 trail brakes with finned pads for £222 delivered, bargain!

Anyone know how to bleed these? do i need the funnel thing? Re changing hoses over and shortening them - is it a case of pump pistons out a bit, undo bolts and swap over, then push pistons back in?

cruzheckler, after reading the shimano docs I think the bleed funnel is nice to have but you can do it without, but the funell shouddl help get the last bubbles out, so may be a bit squishy if you haveno funnel. Not messed with mine yet since shortening hoses, back is def. squishier than front, but both are like dropping a big anchor.

Ok so I got these, and theyre great but I must've fluffed getting the seal right on the front as when I turn the bike upside down I lose fluid and then the front stops working. So I'll try again but need more fluid, do I need that yellow hopper or can they be bled just using a bottle?

So Rose are now out of stock. Can anyone recommend anywhere else I can get these brakes without paying twice the Rosebikes price?

Superfical
If you mean the XT brakes, the Black version (as pictured) are still available 22.56pm 06/10/2011. Go back to each brake, front and back, click on colour, change to black (from silver), status changes to available.

They are excellent, black looks good, there are pics of the black version in the thread somewhere, I posted a pic of mine for sure. The black bits are the levers and part of the body, the reservoir cap is still silver/chrome.

Good Luck

I want the black ones anyway, but Rose don't have them in stock. I emailed them 19th Sept and they confirmed that they had no more front brakes in either colour (at that time they still had rear brakes in stock), and wouldn't be getting any more stock until early 2012.

Now it just says 'article in 1 week available'. Underneath it says 'article available in biketown' which refers to their physical shop but I don't think you can order them.

Couple of questions on these if I may...

Is the short lever long enough for X0 twisties? Don't have much option on inboard/outboard 🙂

I have Hope ISO > Postmount adaptors for my disk size (185/160) - should these work OK? No big deal if they don't I suppose, but it'd be nice to order all at once.
