hi all..currently have my ps3 hooked up with hdmi to tv and optical cable to my surround sound system..while this is great for films etc..it would be good to also have the sound also coming out of telly speakers too(but due to having to set audio output to optical) the sound only comes through surround sound) not a major issue but with my old dvd player set up i had tv sound and surround sound on at same time which was better for hearing dialogue..am i missing some simple set up..? or am i stuck with this..? any info appreciated..cheers.. ๐
HI no I dont think you've missed anything, unless you connect a audio cable from your amp to your tv. Another option maybe to do it the otherway round i.e use RCA audio cable to connect PS3 to tv then tv to amp? I dont know if that would work just an idea.
I dont know what kind of set up your running but on my amp i can turn up individual speakers, it will be in you options menu somewhere. I run a Sony amp. I dont use my tv speakers at all.
if your surround amp has a pre-out or a 5.1 analogue out (six different RCA connections) then you could use an RCA cable as suggested. If it's for dialogue then you'd need to connect the front centre surround output to the telly. running analogue and digital sound at the same time could cause problems though, there is a processing delay on most surround systems and TVs.
