This weekend the two eldest (all 7 and 5 years old of them) and I went down to Marsh Tracs in Rhyl for the 4th Round of the Welsh GoRace Circuit Series.

The 5yr old was in the 6 & under category, bearing in mind he only started riding a bike with pedals last August, he can now ride his little drop barred frog really well and won overall on the day (there are 3 events, a skills test, an individual TT and a lapped circuit race) and now he's won the first 4 rounds of the competition he's tied up the overall series win!!

The 7yr old (the one in the HUPP Yellow / Black Kit) in his first year in 8 & under also won overall on the day and I think leads the series with two overall wins and two overall second places, with 2 rounds left, so one more overall win and he should wrap it up in his 1st year. A bit of a humble brag, but what actually amazed me was his average speed in the circuit race. He did 7 laps of the 800m circuit, so 5.6km in 12 minutes, that's an average speed of 28kph!! Bear in mind he's on a 24" wheeled bike with a top gear of 32t front 13t rear, so a cadence north of 100rpm!!
