Anyone know the difference between the black and gold ones...
Only reason I ask is that the gold one fits on my shimano chain, where as the black one doesn't...
different colours tend to be for different chains (7-8sp, 9 sp, 10sp)
depends on the manufacturer I guess - doubt there's international standard coding
From memory black SRAM links are the lower speed power link (7 or 8sp) or a 10sp one time use power lock.
Gold are 9sp power links
black = 8sp, gold 9sp
Nope must be a power lock as an 8 speed power link will fit a 9 speed chain .
I've got gold ones and they fit 9sp XTR chains and 10sp SRAM road chains.
8sp etc are Grey Silver
9sp are Gold
10sp Powerlock is black.
Where's the cheapest place to get them though!??? 😀
CRC when they are in stock!
Other options are available. I thought the 10spd ones were not reuseable?
look for KMC missing links.
i use a kmc link on my 10sp shinamo chain, and it has been pefect - it it reusable as well.
plus 1 for KMC 10 speed reusable link with shimano chain....wish I'd discovered them earlier!
