My bikes both have xt gears and sunrace cassettes.
Bought a new to me bike that has slx on it and I can't believe how nicely it shifts.
Both of the xt bikes really doesn't like shifting in the middle of the block.
Are sunrace cassettes not that nice at shifting or have both bikes got bent hangers?

Ive not had anything above 10spd from sunrace, but I always found its shifting was more SRAM 'clunk' than Shimano 'snick'.

Always had issues with anything under 10sp from Sunrace, always poor shifting mid-block area, the 10 & 11sp seem to work fine. Bent mech hangers usually manifest themselves as shifting fine at one end of the block, and getting progressively worse towards the other end.

Have sunrace with SLX mech on daughter's bike and sunrace on mine with Sram mech/shifter.. both are are an issue. Spent hrs fine tuning the indexing and have given up as it works ( have gotten use to the clunk or double shift needed now and then!) will switch to XT/SRAM when the cassette is done for

Wife is running two 11 speed Sunrace cassettes. One is 11-46, the other is 11-50. Both shift beautifully.

I have seen an MTBR thread that grumbles about the Sunrace cassettes for XD driver bodies though.

I bought a non-Shimano 10sp cassette for my road bike a few years ago from my LBS, I don't specifically recall what brand but one would assume it was Sunrace before I'd heard of them on here so I forgot. I change chains regularly and I wasn't doing many road miles so it was on there for a couple of years I suppose. The shifting was never right in the middle of the block, I tried everything I could think of - changed cable routing (and cables, several times), even bought a hangar tool. Bought a new Shimano cassette in the end and bosh - flawless.

My 11-50 11sp Sunrace cassette shifts badly across the middle gears. The XT mech had taken a few hits and looked a bit worn, and was right at the edge of adjustment so I replaced it with a 12sp SLX mech to see if that might improve things, but nope, it was still cack. I tried a different chain and that didn’t help either, so I’m just going to leave it on for the winter then it’s going into the scrap drawer.

I have a shimano spaced sun race 12spd cassette with an XT mech/shifter. There’s one tricky spot about 4th gear, which can sound a bit off. Otherwise it’s fine.

I don’t have a micro spline hub so it’s my only non-sram 12 speed option.

Took the shimano cassette and chain off the new bike and put it on old.
Hey presto , I can now access all of my gears.
Shimano bits ordered.

Sounds like you might have sorted it but the mech hanger alignment tool is a good bit of kit and so glad I have it as nearly all of my bikes needed tweaking.
