hi all...ive got an old five and wondered if its any good polishing them and putting a lacquer over the top?..its about 5 years old and is looking tatty...otherwise ill put it into orange and get them to paint it..anyone done it successfully?

Strip and repaint would be my choice, plenty of people do it

If you want it back to nice n shiny, best thing will be to send if off for a strip down and respray. Argos Racing Cycles have redone three bikes for me over the years and I cant speak highly enough of them. They do frame modifications as well. Great to do business with.

Is it painted or powder coated?

Fairly sure orange will only powder coat it, and you can get it done for a lot cheaper than orange will do it for.

its the original paintwork from orange so powder coated? i know they offer a stripping service and then id maybe get it polished elsewhere
