Looking to hone skills in this area, maybe going to have a day practicing these with my son, he is pretty handy now, rides bmx, so good in the air, any suggestions appreciated.

Anyone got a favourite drop, the boy has already done Caddon bank, suggestions for natural ones would be great.

if you mean trail centre ones, there are a couple on Matador DH track folk on here rave about.

if you mean bigger "stunts" get yourselves up to Falkland

plenty drops and chutes on lesser known DH tracks in the tweed valley.

what do you mean by natural though? most have been dug/built

I guess I was meaning natural as in rock features, like the one at bottom of Janets brae, we ended up going round that one last year, I didn't want the boy going off that last year on a hardtail, he would probably find it easy though, he now has full suss.

Probably a little full on, on a trail bike.

Stunts you say, he is trying to do back flips at the mo, where is this all going to end eh? I mean I wear the trousers in this household, if I can't even do a 9ft drop on a trail bike, where is the respect, I need to up my game.

We did Prospacker (Inners) last week, no drops as such but plenty of muddy chutes and steepness.

Also (about) the third right off the very top push-up track has a decent rocky descent with lots of testing sections.

I have been down prospacker, more natural steep stuff is more my forte, it is my idea of a perfect trail, aesthetic and very challenging.

When you see people in the vids doing those drops on Matador they almost look doable, maybe this year, but no promises.

Aberfoyle has a few naturalish drops and a shitload of steep muddy commitment chutes. Not tweed valley though. Dunkeld dh stuff too.

Falklands a private club, members only.

Not sure who runs things up at Falkland these days but Mike and the locals used to be cool with folk coming up to ride once or twice before committing to joining the club.. not sure what the situation is these days as haven't been up in years. but if it's anything like it used to be there will still be information telling you how to join and to keep the place litter free etc in a clearing you'll push your bikes past. It didn't used to be expensive to join so if you do decide to go just the once or twice you could always offer a wee donation towards the hard work they've put in?

Make a roadtrip of it wysiwyg.
Fife has moar riding than just Falkland..
Pitmedden, Falkland, Cambu, Braefoot etc.
plenty other places worth riding outside of the Kingdom but still not too far away no matter where you're travelling from.
