As title we are going into that area for a week and wondered about the rideability
And taking the Fatty along for a pic on the Tourmalet
You can only take your bike up on the first lift of the day, there is a downhii off the top. All bike parks in the area (St Lary, cauterets) will be closed as of today probably. There is likely to be decent xc between there and Luchon and over the other side of the tourmalet towards St Lary. The marked trails around Luchon are pretty bad although I am told that there is loads of decent riding if you know where to look.
Lifts not an option going with some sadistic Germans 😥
one days plan is to drive to the top of the Tourmalet and bike up to the Pic Du Midi
then head down towards the snow barriers above Barege and what is an excelent decent to barage then slog back up the road to the top for the vans
