I remember seeing a tip from PP on here (and in one of the mags I think) for keeping cables away from the head tube. Can anyone remember what or it was or link to a picture of it.

I think I have a pic somewhere..........

Basically, thread about 10mm of clear or black tubing down the gear/brake cable (Yes, you have to remove the cable outer from the brake lever, and take the inner out) then thread a cable tie through it and round the headtube, very tightly. It works well.

Did the same thing recently, but substituted small zip-ties instead of the tubing to save having to separate my hydro hoses

Yeah, I've done that too on another bike

This only works if the cables pass close to the headtube and there's enough space for a cable tie though
