I've just got an alpine 160,which for a long travel bike pedals up hill pretty well.I'm thinking of fitting a coil shock for general riding, and to give it a bit more balls for the descents.
Has anyone ruined the climbing ability by fitting a coil shock? The new shock i'm thinking of fitting doesn't have a pedal platform, but does have slow speed comp damping.

Cheers John.
