Hi,

I've recently moved near to Doncaster and keen to ride some of the Peak District. I wonder if anyone could recommend some clubs/groups in the area. I'm about an hour east of Castleton, but don't mind traveling further. I have some routes but would rather ride in a group as I'm very unfamiliar with the area. I'm on facebook, so links to pages / groups are welcome.

Thanks

18 Bikes used to do shop evening rides too, not sure if they’re still doing them but worth checking out.

Cafe adventure and bike garage (cabg), both based in hope, do regular weekly group rides.

A thread gatecrash - sorry OP….

Leak/thorncliffe area any decent riding from the door? Found ‘roaches’ pov on YouTube but not seeing much else. Not fussed whether tech and St or more of a double track leg stretch and enjoy the views.
Holidaying there August so wondering what options are for an hour or two ride.

Good roadying round the Staff moors @bri-72 but I don't know the mountain biking there - it must involve a ton of footpaths as it seems like slim pickings for bridleways. Roaches / Gradbach is good but it's footpaths and busy walker territory (Lud's Church is a nice destination if you're out for a hike yourself).

If you have more time you could ride up toward three-shires head and pick up part of the Macc forest loop, that's a classic but it's more than a 1 or 2 hr spin starting from Leek.

A great way to start is with the Vertebrate Publishing guide books, white and dark peak. A really useful resource.
