'Scuse my ignorance, but what is "paypal as gift" as seen in lots of classifieds? And how do I do it?

you just select another tab on paypal quite obvious when your there, but i believe it costs you. so say i sold you a bike and said paypal as gift you pay my fees so a bit of a con.

It has never cost me any money. Do you already have a paypal account?

It depends how you fund the account as to whether there any fees

Yup - had an account for a few years but never used "as gift".
What will it cost me over and above the transaction amount (£20 which includes postage)?
It is funded from my current account by direct debit (I think)

if its definitely funded by direct debit, it will be free to both parties: I do this frequently.
