Cleaned the bike the other day and noticed that paint was flaking off my rear Syncros branded DT Swiss hub, at the flanges where the spokes are threaded into the hub. Anyone else ever suffered with this?

Yeah, although it was a (probably) older Bontrager branded one - not the prettiest but mud seems to hide it pretty well, just don't wash it & you'll be fine ๐Ÿ™‚

They do seem to have a habit of doing that ๐Ÿ™

1x240s, 1x340, and 2xBonty branded 240s and they all did it eventually...

My BMC road-bike's DT Swiss Hubs did the same after 18 months and that's with keeping it in the dry.

My DT Swiss r24 splines lost lots of paint over a winter.
I returned them to the shop I bought them from who had the hubs replaced on warranty
