I have a virtually unused dhx rc4 from another bike that ive just tried on my alpine. rc4 shock is 222x69 and the correct shock is 216x63. nothing makes contact that shouldnt and theres still ample between the frame and swingarm.

who else has tried a similar thing, did it work?

and there is more room between the reservoir and cable guide then the pic will let you believe.
