I have just bought a OneUp dropper post to fit to a Whyte 405 and am concerned it might be a pain.
The bike had a Fox Transfer and all worked well, though internal BBX routing is a painful experience. Fine once it is done, but the position of the post in the seat tube can't be adjusted / raised as the outer cable will not move once installed.
I thought the OneUp would be the answer, as I could 'trim the shim' to raise the seat height. BUT I noticed the the OneUp mechanism works by the pressure of the outer cable and am concerned that the lack of movement in the installed outer cable will be a show stopper.
Anyone used the OneUp Dropper in similar setups ? Did it work ?

Mine has been installed an a Scott Spark, Pace RC529 and an Intense Spider. The Scott was a pain to route, but once it was in it worked fine.
As long as you leave a little slack in the frame, all should be well.

There has to be some slack in the seatube, immediately below the end of the post, or no worky.
Yes that's what concerned me.
Update: Have gone through the performance of fitting it and after alot of jiggling it does work. It wouldn't work properly initially, but I pulled the post up 5mm and it seems to be working. The shim is in and it appears to be spot on. I think there is about 4cmm of cable below the post before it starts to bend round the BB.
Will be used in anger this week, so fingers crossed.

Once fitted and working, they seem to be super reliable. Mine are anyway.
I recently fitted a 170mm OneUp post to one of my Litevilles (with stealth routing mod) and just left a bit of slack inside the seat tube - so far it seems to work fine.
Of course, if I wanted to make fine adjustments to the overall post height I’d have to slacken off all the cable clamps and push more cable through.
