I had the same choice, got the Rainier because it was cheaper.
Works a treat now. Initially I had some issues with the actuator linkage binding, but a dab of grease has fixed that. I believe it has been revised now too.

I have to say I'm on the fence currently with my oneup dropper but I would say that the guys are awesome at answering questions and dealing with warranty. Just as soon as they have stock I'll get a warranty replacement. I think the new actuator could possibly do with some more thought in it, it's really hard to fit single handed because there isn't enough support for the outer when you push/pull down into your seat tube so it easily falls off the actuator. A simple channel could work maybe. The actuator on mine is super stiff right now and because its low down in my SC the remote (i have a wolftooth light action) takes quite a bit of force to move it. My post has developed a LOT of play in the saddle when its dropped so as soon as you descend it clunks away, hence being replaced. I hope the new post sorts the play out at least!

My v2.1 oneup has no play or anything like that. I also have an older v1 which works well too. I would happily buy a third.
