[#1771505]

Right So still keen on cycling on a regular basis (although she keeps asking to go back on a uplift day). At the moment she's riding a cheapish sunn which size is 16.

Bike seems spot on in terms of seat tube length. However I have noticed that in spite of very short and riser stem, when going uphill she stands on the inside of her palms (between the thumb and the first finger) to get a few cm more.

I know 14" is going to be way to small. Anyone knows from experience who still makes 15" frames, or short top tube 16"

Cheers for thqt

Anyway............3 to start with ๐Ÿ˜€

In fact, most of Oranges bikes come in a 15" frame..............certainly all the hardtails do!

WG effective top tube is about 54 cm IIRC so something one or two cm shorter will be good.

Clare thanks you might even get to know her name before hand who knows ๐Ÿ˜›

i know that .5" may be important to your other half, but COVE bikes Hustler, Stifee and Handjob all cum in a 15.5"

Juan - pretty certain you saw my 15" Rock Lobster, short top tube and really too small for me. Have 14" Inbred ss. Don't discount this as top tube is long.

What height is she?

Cube women specific. I'm 5'4" and Mr MC bought me this which fits like a dream

http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=44356

sat on the 16" mens in the shop and it "fit", as in I could have ridden it, but this is much better. They have put some thought into it being womens specific geometry and spec wise, rather than just painting it pink or baby blue. ๐Ÿ™„

Giant do every size under the sun, I have an extra small Reign for grrr days but cant speak highly enough about my Cube.

You CANNOT compare frame sizes across different brands - or even within brands. No one takes a 15" frame in every make and model of bike.

OK, so that's 5'5", my height.

As Bunnyhop says, Juliana medium BUT I believe the sizing has changed. My latest is a small Soul, very good fit and am pretty happy with it.

But druid is right. You both need to come to the UK and try out the girlie bikes. ๐Ÿ™‚

Actually another one worth considering is the Kinesis, they also do a steel. Reckon sizing could be good.

Like ppl say, it depends on what effective top tube length you need. I'm 166 cm, and I reckon between 21.6" and 22.3" is about right. All women-specific ranges cover these size. Otherwise look at Orange, Rock Lobster, Cove, Kinesis, Pace who all do a 15 or 15.5" frame. The Genesis 16" frames could also fit as the sizes are a little smaller.

Soma offers the Groove in sizes down to 15in. Not sure who sells them outside of the US now. Though they will ship direct from the US.
