I'm hovering over the buy button on a large scandal which I plan to fit 100mm Fox 29 forks but I am in turmoil over which headset, mixer, slackset 1 deg or slackset 2 deg. Has someone whose got one able to give me some feedback? I like to go down as quick as possible but does a slackset really make that much difference?
Bump
What do On One say?
I have a scandal and run 120mm forks, I guess if you run 100mm forks and a 1 deg slackset that would make the head angle about the same as running the 120mm max fork length for the frame.
But it does beg the question why buy a head angle altering headset at all.
It will be fine with 100mm forks and a normal headset.
Fair point Tinsy, maybe I need to stop making it complicated!
They are nice frames, light and fast and still plenty fun coming back down.
Scandal with rigid fork and mixer headset for me.
Handling is really good and sharp, as you might expect, never had any issues on decents and i do not think it feels much slower than my other bike which has a 100mm fork, and slightly slacker geo, except on the really rough stuff.
I would recommend trying it without a slackset first
