[Closed] On one rocky road ti bike £1299.99

It will be a straight gauge unbutted frame. So the same weight or more than aluminium and possibly a harsh ride [my Scandal is smoooooth]. And the process to make it is incredibly polluting. But it's shiny, so of course it's worth it.

Any feedback on this.

Buy it with GX if you can. SX is really horrible.

Surely everyone would take the Kona, it's full of class.

1x chainsets and dinner-plate rear cassettes still and will always look stupid to me.

Any up to date feedback by any owners? I'm hovering over the button as we speak.
It's going to be used as a glorified gravel bike .

I bought one and it is a blast. The only complaint I have is that the tyres are easily punctured so buy a sturdier pair.

What does it weigh?

No idea what the weight is, but even with the stem and handlebars it feels light.

If it's still around in march when my C2W scheme opens, I may be tempted. I'd quite like a cheap bike to get into the mountains before donning the hiking gear/stash bike in the heather.

Could someone who owns one of these confirm if it has stealth dropper routing? Cheers

Hi folks, might take advantage of the current offer but wondering about real world tyre clearance...

Cheeky tags - sorry 😁
@Tonolina
@Travellinglight

PX customer service suggest 2.4, but do any owners think you can go bigger and still clear mud? I'd like to use 2.6 really!

Thanks

The front fork has loads of clearance, but the rear looks like a 2.6 will clear the frame as long as the tyres aren't any higher/deeper(?) than the ones fitted.

Thanks for that!

Hi, I can confirm the rocky road will happily take 2.6 on the rear, might even push to 2.8 if low tread profile. The front is massive, 2.8 to 3" no bother. I'm running 2.8/2.6 on the original rims. Seems OK for my xc riding.

I was torn between one of these or a whippet.
Ultimately my suspension seat post would only fit the whippet.

Ditto the GX upgrade.

I rung PX recently to ask about an upgrade to NX but they couldn’t do it so offer the GX instead. For £200 you get rear mech, shifter, cranks and the new G2R brakes. So for £1199, you get a Ti and carbon bike upgraded to GX, no brainier really.

7 week lead time for the build which is agonising but can’t be helped. Stocks are reducing allegedly so make the most of the online discount.

Will keep you posted when it arrives.

I took delivery of one of these two weeks ago (the base SX spec) - converted to tubeless, fitted a dropper and, while I was ordering I spent an additional tenner on a set of Controltech flat bars - so cut those down to 780 and fitted them too - I can confirm after 100 miles of riding it's a lovely bike - ride is sublime - it's nice and light and rips along - very pleased with it -

I will see how the SX kit goes but my feeling is if the shifter/mech give up I'll just replace with Deore - no drama - I didn't think the upgrade was worth it -

I already had the tyres and seatpost so didn't need to spend extra £'s on it either -

Very pleased for now - oh, and to answer my own question from up above in this thread - it does indeed have stealth routing for the dropper!

It's £999 at the moment. Would you recommend this for a roadie getting more into off-road/gravel riding or would I be better off with an entry-level Specialized or Giant? It looks like a bargain to me.

Had been deliberating one of these for a while (also the Broken Road). The tyre clearance,GX upgrade & price finally convinced me & I have one arriving in March.

The geometry / weight is pretty similar to my 10 year old Cannondale Trail (rigid / single-speed), which I still love riding, so expecting the the Rocky Road to be spot on for some bike packing trips.

Frustratingly still awaiting build; I’m told they’re waiting for delivery of the fork.

8 March is my expected build date, so will keep you updated.

I just managed to order before the price increase but would be confident it’ll come down again shortly.

I must admit I cancelled my order as the 2 months wait was too long for me. Ended up going for something a little different (and in stock!) - an Olsen Mokihinui 😁
