I still don't think anything concrete has been anounced but the intention is for it to be open to the public. I suspect it will have the technical bits toned down considerably though unfortunately as they understandably want to be inclusive to families/beginners. Fingers crossed they will build some family-friendly trails to compliment it and leave it more or less as is.

There's also meant to be some kind of legacy mountain bike trail in the Olympic Park itself.

Not very reassuring:

After the Games

The temporary structures will be taken down. We will work closely with our partners, including Essex County Council and The Salvation Army, to explore what course will be left in place for future use.

It's a 15 minute loop designed to be raced, with some features beyond the ability of many riders, I'm not too sure the majority of people would want the course exactly as is left behind, rather something more usable on the land.

they did report locally that following a questionnaire that was completed the venue would be open to public use, with changes.

I think our local race series has it pencilled in for 2013..

Will it be open to everyone, or just heterosexuals?
