Will a 26 x 1 1/4 wheel fit on a bike that takes 26 x 1 3/8? Provided the hub spacing is the same, I assume it's just the brake drop to consider. I'm rubbish with imperial measurements so roughly how many mm different will they be?

Hmm, I seem to have stopped being so lazy and have looked at a ruler. I make the difference about 2-3mm. Should be OK then.

Not sure if it will affect you, but I found that 26" MTB wheels are a completely different size to the old Gents bike 26" wheels.
