I am off to do the route round the lochs described in Andy Mac's book, anybody been there recently, how were the conditions?
I was up there friday. The path around Loch Ordie was suprisingly less boggy than I remember. But to compensate the path back after the cottages is best described as a river....HUGE FUN 😀
Did my Trail leader a'ment there years ago, it was a mess then, but got an all-day pass and want to do something a little longer than a morning up Glen Esk.
If you want to go further, and avoid some of the worst bog, I said it wasn't as boggy but it is still axle deep in places, you can carry on up past Lochan Oisineach and back round Capel Hill to rejoin Loch Ordie. Not sure of the conditions on this bit though as I was running out of daylight on Friday started out at half two, on the way back from Aberdeen.
