I'm looking at buying full susser - use would be the downs plus other ( mainly xc)
And I am not the lightest - so I have looked at the whyte 130, the bird aeris (but can't live with the looks) ... what is a nukeproof mega like ...?

Not really an xc bike, more "trail". Well liked bikes and good value. When I bought my Covert frame (£1250) the Nukeproof was £750 and I nearly got one but decided to go with the "want"

It is possible a misnomer to say XC, and it is more trail. It want something solid to cope with my bulk ...

My old 26" Mega AM was the best bike I've ever owned. Raging I sold it!

Size guide is on the CRC site. Just go to the Mega and the size guide is there

trouble is the CRC cuts out the XL size details. (using safari)
Blimey, it has a very short top tube ....(using Chrome)

TT's meaningless, steep seat-tubes shorten it. Check out the reach.

186cm with 34" trouser, long arm guy. Have a large 26" Mega AM, fits well. Large should do you but there are loads around. You must be able to get a leg over one somewhere local. Awesome bike.

I am a bit mystified as to how it can have a steep seat tube, short top tube but a reach bigger that my Solaris?
I could see that is the case if it has a relaxed seat tube angle ....

A slacker seat tube means the TT starts further back

I'm 180cm and ride a large 2015 mega am, absolutely amazing bike that takes a beating I ride mine everywhere inc a lot of downhill and uplifting also Alps trips. I do use it for my trail rides as well but obviously something with a little less travel and lighter would be better for this but I can only afford the one bike and I can ride pretty much everything on my mega. For what is worth I think think the aeris is a nice bike and would have had one of those if I hadn't got my mega frame at such a good price, also so many nice 130 mm bikes coming out now as well like the whyte and cotics

Hmmm, I didn't realise they were 160 ...
So maybe I need to get back a focus on what I might actually use ... 130mm

I have a meduim 2014 26 inch Mega TR and use it for everything from xc rides to days at the Golfie and it has never let me down. I am 5'10 with a 31 inside leg and feel the meduim is to compact so will be replacing it with a large when I change

Have a look at the vitus range of bikes also on crc, I brought an escarpe 290 frame earlier in the year and was very impressed with the fit and build quality

I'm surprised looks are an issue with the Aeris, but eye of the beholder and all that. Check out the new Aeris 120, looks fantastic in the flesh.

The looks with the aeris is always that it looks like a kids bike!
Are the tubes oversized ...??

Pretty sure they do an XL, love the long low geometry of all their bikes and they just seem to be a great company. Superb warranty, everything comes tubeless, no naff parts.

Since I got my zero tr a month ago I seem to be either riding it or looking at it.

The mega 290 is a very capable bike. It would plenty for most DH tracks (with the right strength wheels)

I think they ride great but to make the most of it you want to get it fast on the rough stuff.
