Just spotted this on BBC News

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/stoke_and_staffordshire/10596808.stm

Now i am an athiest, so tend to be cynical about these things but...

Avoid swimming so as not to swallow water !

Better not go out on a foggy day too i guess.

Dearie me.

religion should have an 18 certificate rating on it anyway.

I don't need Ramadan to know not to swallow swimming pool water!

I was on holiday in Egypt at a top hotel, and a bunch of women had burka swimsuits!! They looked like frogmen but in bright colours, altho some were black. Pissed me off a bit to be honest, they had a sign up saying no clothing in the pool other than swimsuits, including t-shirts to protect from the sun, and yet these frogwomen were floating around in what didnt appear to me to be particularly hygenic clothing

Was it during Ramadan?

How appaling of them to use a swimming pool in their own country, and obey their own dogma.

I'd have demanded a refund and that they convert to a proper religion so as not to inconvenience you ๐Ÿ™‚

Dont be so narrow minded, just because their not like you is no justification for criticism, what are you? some kind of racist? and whilst you at it please apoligise to those German boys for shooting them just because they upset the jews.

The advice is coming from Muslims.

The Staffordshire council gave seems to come directly from the Muslim Council of Britain (MCB) website - the texts are the same. So this is 'official' MCB guidance.

More interesting, is that the MCB appear to have done a U-Turn!
--------------------------------------------------------------

Back in 2004, Surrey County Council issues a document on Ramadan guidance, with the guidance of the MCB: and that document says swimming during Ramadan is NO PROBLEM.

So somewhere between then and now, the MCB seem to have done a U-turn.

The Surrey council document is here

This is the best bit "Muslim followers who have reached puberty are required to avoid sexual thoughts during this period"
Good job Hora's not a Muslim.
