It's been rumoured for a little while, but confirmed today - can't make it work with date clashes. If that's the full story...

Gutted, one of my favourite days of the year

Yup, World Cup and other race calendar clashes means we’ve not been able to make it work. We’d usually announce earlier, but have been trying our best to line things up, sadly without success.

@18bikes

Do you envisage this being an ongoing hurdle for future years or don't know until the calendars are announced?

It’s always a challenge, sometimes doesn’t work out. Fingers crossed for next year, I remain hopeful!

Gutted as I always enjoy the day. Although a couple of years ago when it was in May I think, the weather was glorious. Last Sept wasn't bad but it was a bit misty and grey.

Maybe look at moving it earlier in the year, if that makes more dates available.

Oh no 😪. Haven't missed one. Think I raced in the first one. Daughter has missed racing in three. One with a broken arm, one with a broken leg and the other because her dad wouldn't buy her a ticket back from NZ.

@jeffl its complicated but our date window is limited, it's been in May or before every year until last year but we can't do that going forward.
