I've used black mamba gloves, and they're proper tough, but they're £25 a box. And they're black, so you can't see when covered in chain gunk.

I've used surgical gloves; they're proper cheap, light coloured... and tear easily on cassettes and the like.

Anyone found tough gloves that aren't black or silly expensive?

B

you could wear some marigolds (being serious)

Or if you want tougher just look for thicker nitrile gloves or look for ones quotes as being tougher. Ebay, Arco other PPE sites etc.

The £6.99 nitriles from Screwfix are pretty good, that's what I use, aminly as I can pick them up easily.
These are the best I've tried:

I use marigold industrial NT10P PF at work (industrial chemist), a true fit with strength and stretch.

Happy to use them for a whole morning or an afternoon and it is rare that they rip compared to other tactile nitrile gloves we have tried.

surgical are latex? useless for anything tough and you have to be careful with sensitisation too.

edit - tenner for 100

Have to say that I always find the 'tearing' of nitrile gloves a PITA, once nick and the glove falls apart.

I have always preferred these: https://www.justgloves.co.uk/Latex-Gloves/Moisturising-Powder-Free-Latex-Gloves/Aloecare-Powder-Free-Latex-Gloves

though these are good too: https://www.justgloves.co.uk/Latex-Gloves/Unigloves-Select-Black-Latex-Gloves
