First trip doing this sort of thing with my mate planned in the summer. Planning on eating in a pub and then pitching / bivvying nearby. Pitch as the sun goes down and away first thing in the morning,

Any nice spots come to mind?

On reflection, posting such spots on here is a bit daft. If anyone does have a good suggestion they are happy to share can they message me instead? Cheers

Good call.

OS map plus aerial/satellite images to check for flatness and ground cover.

You won't have a problem finding somewhere, just use your nose and get up out of the valley floor and away from the farms. Get a couple of takeaway bottles after your meal and use the time to find a good spot a bit further away so you can set up just as it gets dark. I wouldn't recommend anywhere that close to the WS car park, it tends to be heaving with vanlifers almost as far up as the Torver turnoff whenever I go past.
