Ive been using Sherwood pines regularly to try and get more confident before tackling the harder reds etc available.

Bearing in mind I live near the pines, where would be the next obvious centre to try out, which will provide more but not break the confidence I have built up.

Cheers

Cannock?
I've not tried the pines, if I was going 2hrs away I'd go to the peaks - Not a trail centre, but there is a wide spread of difficulty to try. Get a guide book and go for a wander?

I'm not sure how the national forest grade stuff buts pines isnt really a red, it difficult as its so flat.

Head to cannock, Llandegla or Dalby.

The peaks can be a bit hit or miss unless you know where your going or have a good trail book.

not been to pines but i live about 30-40min away from cannock so have go there more it has some good trails you can slow down and take bits easy or hit them at speed and challenge yourself, did llandegla last week we tryed to do the red runs first but ended up somehow on the blues due to them doing maintenance the blues are more fun than the fire roads at cannock though as there trails with berms etc but then we did the black runs they were brilliant id say do cannock then llandegla

Aye Cannock would be a good bet and a nice step up from Sherwood. Do you ride the "downhill" section at Sherwood? That should give you an idea of what to expect.

There's some amazing riding in the Peaks, but as suggested it can be a bit hit and miss if you don't know where you're going, plus it's a LOT different (rockier, steeper, wetter) than Sherwood and might as you say break your confidence a bit.

Go to Cannock and ride Follow the Dog. If you're happy with that then next time tag on the Monkey as well.
