Need to get a new air shaft for my yari to build my new frame up. Should I stick with 170 as per spec or go 180?
170mm seemed to be enough for 6th at last years DH world champs. But 180mm for taking this years EWS overall title.

Either will work, depends how much travel you need / want.
TBH how you like your fork set up and what geometry you prefer would be of bigger consideration to me than the 10mm between them
Im not going to be entering any world series events anytime soon 😦 Think I'll stick with 170. Interesting though how sam hill thought he needed a bit more for the ews than the dh track.
Edit. Actually dont think I can go 180 on the yari anyway. Decision over.
You could argue that Cairns DH track isn't as technical or steep as alot of the other DH tracks...... which is why he rode a Mega and not a Pulse.
