[#9799171]

Cy is currently discounting the remaining stocks of Cotic Solaris Max framesets. Does this mean a new model is on the way, or is it just a generous offer? It seems to have all of the latest spec (Boost, 44mm, long and low etc) and most of the same elements as the new Soul, so I am not sure what is lacking if there is a new model on the way. Should I just take the plunge and stop over thinking it?

It might just be a new paint job...

Yep, thought/hoped it might just be colours. Now, black/orange or black/turqoise?......

The copy did read like they were just doing a new set of paintjobs.

If you want it as a versatile, comfy XC bike then crack on. If you're after a hardtail gnarpoon maybe not.

I'd probably go black/orange myself FWIW.

I think he’s rolling out the new geometry too. Done the bfe and soul, Solaris next then Flare and Rocket. I’m holding off my Planned Rocket purchase to see what happens anyway. The big question is if they New geo is actually better for you or not.

This is all conjecture but there have been rumours, apparently emanating from Sam the demo man, on other threads that the SolarisMAX is due a geo update.

my reading is that a) with the new BFe26 the SolarisMAX would be the only ‘old’ geo frameset in the range and b) Cy normally has a reason for any discount...

the last update (of which I am an owner of) was really only beefing out the back end for 3.0” tyres and Boost. Oh, and a new name to bring it in-line with the full sus range.

will it remain an outlier or will it be brought into the fold?

they must have test rigs so unless they felt crap its surely only a matter of time.

All imho obvs.

If it is on the cards, I’ll be getting in line 😆

re. Colour question, if I was buying again I’d be black/orange as my aqua is just a bit to sky doper fanboi for my liking 😩

The latest BFe 26er did get new colours and a slight HA tweak if I read the email correctly.

So maybe the SolarisMax will get the same?

Product page says it’s ‘a touch longer’ as well.

I think it should be compulsory for every cotic frame to be available in the classic duck egg blue, with the black and white logo. Maybe the orange too.

I don't like all the two-tone fancy flourishes, but i'm a bit boring.
