New cassette and chain time.

I am current using a 11-36 XT 10 speed chain and cassette. Sadly too much riding in the wet at Chicksands has ground my favourite cogs down.
Best deal I have found so far is £49.50 for an XT chain and cassette from Merlin. I can have the same in SLX for £35.36 but I have heard rumours that the SLX cassette doesn't play nicely with alloy free hubs. Also people seem to prefer KMC chains.
Any advice on the best replacement before I pull the trigger (yeah I said it 😆 ) on the XT?

buy some second hand stuff on here as people now want 11 speed !

KMC X10-93 on eBay for £13.50 and cassette for £35 from CRC.
