Finally got my Niner built up a couple of weeks ago. First ride out, I pinch flatted before I'd got very far, and had to walk home (due to tube confusion); second ride out I ripped the rear mech off on my first climb. Finally, today everything was looking good, up until I parked it like this during an elegant, tree assisted, over the bars dismount:

Upright it looks like this, and according to my LBS's very optimistic scales, weighs under 25lbs 🙄

I tell you, that's one chunky weld. I could ride it off a cliff and it wouldn't break there.

First impressions...?
Yes, it is.
First impression was that it felt a bit lazy (or effortless) compared to my usual 26" hardtail. When I found some slightly more demanding terrain it really came into its own though. It's the sort of bike I could really get into trouble with. It's so smooth and carries speed so well that I ended up approaching things too fast and struggled to scrub enough speed off on more than one occasion. Very confidence inspiring and stable. I think I'll keep it, but for the majority of the slightly bland trails roundup way it's not as much fun as my Cotic. I just hope I can get the time to take it to the Peak or a bit further afield where it will shine. It'll be fab for enduros too. That's if it doesn't kill me first.
