Im in the market for a new set of bars, carbon. currently have 690mm with a 25mm rise. if i went up to a 40mm rise would i notice a great deal of difference in the handling? 😕
just thought id ask this again.. was also wondering if it would aleviate any neck and shoulder ache after a ride?
Bar rise is such a personal thing, like width and sweep... I like my bars, which are a tiny rise and 760mm wide... You may prefer something different. Higher bars might help your aches, but they might not!
yeh, i know its probably a proccess of elimination. might try and buy a set of cheap, wide 40mm rise bars and see if they suit. Im after a set of carbon bars, but dont want to shell out a lot of money and find there not for me..
Not a bad idea. You'll probably be able to shift them for not much less than you paid, or hang onto them for spares. Remember sweep / shape makes a big difference too!
