Plans dont seem to include any 'external' bike plans. Location is great for trail access though.

If it's just a giant centre parks that you can only go to if you pay money then I may need to keep going on the M4 another forty miles or so.

One of the older BBC articles under the one posted above says 'The company behind the scheme, Northern Powerhouse Developments, has Center Parcs UK founder Peter Moore on its board.' Dunno if involved with the Salamanca group though, that is behind the most recent initiative. Looks like a 2027 opening.

Mixed feelings: unlikely better/more advanced trails, but probably more accessible, and perhaps better for local area overall. Would have loved to see this up in North Wales.

Even if new trails are not in the first stage of the plan, the area could really do with some investment so lets hope this brings people and money in. More trails and a better cafe tend to follow.

Fingers crossed some new trails do come out of this as the current ones need some TLC and something new, especially after a good chunk of blade was closed

Confusing info on the Blade trail on MBWales website - says fully open on the bit dated 07/11 but diversions on the bit dated Aug 22

Hasn't this been talked about, in various forms, for years? I always thought it was some dodgy scheme that never got the funding it needed. Hence why it never happened. I've always liked Afan though and rode W2 in the summer, it's still a great trail.

Still linked to this scam artist? Not clear.

@trailseeker

Was at Afan recently. While there were diversions, the route was virtually the same length and not much "trail" lost versus the fire road link ups changing.

There were a few signposts missing I think, we were fine following a GPX but we found a few lost souls along the way!
