Got devoured in Tavira two weeks ago, bites all over my legs neck and forehead but itchy and unpleasant but they went down after a few days.

Roll forward to yesterday.

Oh

Sweet

Holy

Jesus.

Just shoot me and my fire legs and elephant man forehead

Edit: must make it bike related... Can I ride with mosquitos bites?

You need Whisky!

Open a bottle and rub a small amount onto each bite

Then drink the rest of the bottle

Works for me

Tiger balm is the best thing for stopping the itching.

Look up the hot spoon approach (not crazy hot obviously) apaprently denatures the protein in the bite.

A multi-pronged approach works for me:
1. Antihistamines, have a couple, they help.
2. Ice, rub it over the bites for instant relief.
3. Anthisan, rubbed in to each bite.

They'll always itch, this should help minimise it though.

4. Get used to them. It'll take couple of weeks and most people adapt.

antihistamine cream works wonders for the itching - you can get it in tesco .

toothpaste works in a pinch if you havent any of the above

above all resist scratching.

- source .... working in africa for years.

Top tip for prevention cover your clothes in deet not your skin - ive yet to find a non deet based one thats effective on swarms of mozzies(skin so soft and smidge/citronella based etc DO NOT WORK AT ALL with mosquitos that i can assure you, dont use scented soap - wash often and dont use scented deoderant

Incognito Mosquito (or Skin so Soft works for me) and sleep under a mosquito net - most people that I see suffering from loads of bites are the ones that don't observe a few simple precautions.
I'm not saying that this is you, of course.

In all honesty it was a surprise attack during dinner and I got caught napping.

Trail_rat my mum's helpful response was basically "in Sudan it was bot fly" ๐Ÿ˜€
