Yes, I am serious, no I'm not willy waving.

Been a few years since I was last in Morzine, but may be passing through for a day or two this summer visiting some roadie mates.

Is any of the XC stuff doable on a cross bike? I seem to remember the loops around the ridge over the back of the pleney being more fire road than technical.

Can only really take one bike - would make sense (to me, at least) to take the CX with a change of tyres as we'll probably go on a couple of road rides with maybe a day trying some gentle XC.

As I said my mates are hardened roadies (and one of them is deeply incompetent off tarmac) so anything we do off road won't be body armour DH

Yes, some of the ridge stuff will be okay - I seem to remember we did a bit of the ridges a couple of years ago and there were people on very-xc hardtails riding them. I think I would like a disc-braked cx bike - is that possible?

There might be a couple of moments where the best thing to do is to simply get off??

Is there an online map of the xc routes somewhere online? I can probably remember where we went by looking at that - they were waymarked.

This sort of thing?

I can remember some of the stuff there, but it's probably 5 years ago I was last there
