Heading down to Moreton in Marsh for a course early December. Any MTB riding round there? I found a thread from 11 years ago with a shop that organised night rides but can’t find them online now.

Cheers

What sort of riding are you looking for? If it's BPW style gnar (albeit much shorter runs) I can hook you up not far away.

There's quite a lot of xc around there. Lots of bridleways to explore.

Be warned - all bridleways in the Cotswolds are churned up into swamps by horse riders at this time of year.

If it’s The College Of Satan you’re going to then I’d forget riding as it’ll be very dark after you’ve finished a pointless day. Go to the pub instead?

I tend to do quite a few rides from just down the road at Snowshill.
There's quite a few options, but as mentioned above, many of the bridleways are carnage because of the horses.

Not sure how to share Strava routes but I have a few.

Mtb foodie has a lot of ideas to follow.

Some of the tracks will become unrideable soon but I can do you a route for some XC that would be ridable all year is you wish. It would be heading out towards Blockey & Chipping Campden. We are a small group of riders based in Shipston on Stour & normally do a 3-3.5hour ride on a Sunday morning & if it suits you would be welcome to join us.

I lived at the College for a year, I suggest taking a road bike if you have one, loads of nice routes around there.

There was (going back to 2001!!!) a group that rode from the train station on a Wednesday evening, mostly muddy bridleways but OK. Drop me a DM as I’m still in regular contact with one of the guys who lives in the village.

I used not far away nr. Brackley, the other side of Banbury, and the MTB is mostly BW and field edge stuff, horrible this time of year. I'd pretty much end up going to the Chilterns (which TBF isn't much better this time of year) Echo comments about a road bike, there's endless country lanes that don't have much traffic on them around some lovely villages and their pubs. Much much more fun.

I would also echo the muddy mess now its starting to rain. There is a sort of concrete like clay in the Cotswolds that is pretty horrible, plus its horsy central.

But...........if its dry / frozen then, there is some good riding. When exactly are you over, id be up for a ride as Im pretty local.

Thanks folks.

At the fire college as alluded to above 😖

@Trimix 5/12 for 4 nights so if weather is decent can make a call closer to the time.

Cheers
