It isn't currently but some hike-a-bike* onto the top of Windy Hill, is...

*this is very much subject to the weather staying dry until Monday.

We will need to set off at 8.15 prompt though.

Monday nights are mine again after last week's aberration so I'll be there.

How long does it take to ride the canal from Tod to Hollingworth?

If we have time at the end of mondays ride Jon, I might show you. Otherwise just look out for harry pointing skywards in the general direction of the M62.

I'm in, although it may be the last before I go on holiday.

I have been informed that if I have a bad crash that means I can't drive it had better be fatal.

Yeah. Flying 20ft through the air and going head first down a hole has burned at least 6 of my 9 lives.

Not sure about the canal, but probably around 20 minutes on road.

Clover says "It'll take him about four minutes".

Chaps and chapessses - could I just add the same request as last time. The Wine Press gets busy on summer evenings. So they won't appreciate us filling their car park up then swanning off into the hills

So if we park in the visitor centre car park, which is about 30 yards down from the pub on the left.

And so you're forewarned - Bregante may not be able to make tonight. So if not, you've got me leading from the rear again. It'll be a completely different route from last time though, but there will still be an element of hike-a-bike involved near the end. To get round and get a beer in, we'll need to be on our way bang on 8.15

Laterz!

Bah, I'm not going to make it out. New brake pads are faulty, plus undiagnosed chain issue means I'd be asking for a mechanical 🙁

Top ride boys and girls.

Hooning down the last gravel descent as the light fades with a bunch of mates is why I ride bikes.

Brilliant! Thanks. 😀

You've jinxed it now. Great ride again guys (and girls). Don't think I'll ever get bored of riding Blackstone Edge.

Rivington I think. Will confirm on Thursday.

There was talk of repeating the run we did a couple of weeks ago.

Hmm...considering turning up for the next one. I clicked the link; didn't really make much sense to an idiot like me.

On a scale of 1 to 10, how hard is it!?

Ta.

It's at least an 8, most of the pubs serve a variety of ales and have a good selection of crisps. It can be a real struggle if you're not au fait with the beers on tap and an audience watching, a couple of occasions i've almost crumbled under the pressure and thirst.

The ride itself is probably a 3, the pub quandary takes it to a 7. Remembering to bring cash, as there's generally a minimum spend on cards bumps it up the final point to an 8.

I cant guarantee being out at the moment but i will try and get there this coming Monday. I did a good ride the other day that i thought would be good to share on a MNPR. Has someone else volunteered to lead next week or would you like me to don my yellow waistcoat and lead?*

*In the not from the front sense?
