Anyone fancy the Hebden Classics?

what start time?
Stubbings Wharf - HX7 6LU
8.15pm
ooooh whast the anticipated distance / finish time then?
ooooh whast the anticipated distance / finish time then?
Not long. about 15km, finishing around 10ish.
I'll be there
ooooh sounds like a possibility.
if anyone's traveling from brighouse that could give me a lift home that would be ace else ill grab the train.
Count me in.
Vocation do nicer beer though....
They do, but it's a pig to park and there's very little space to put bikes. And it's a monday night so 7% artisan craft IPAs might not be a good idea ๐
Park? What is this you speak of?
Also, Daz, we're not going to reenact the last MNPR in Hebden. I was quite, quite hungover the next morning.
All the beer in the Stubbings is of the old-man variety. Hangovers won't be an issue.
Yes, very much so on the beer front. New decor is.... unflattering though.
For some reason I was expecting something along those lines to appear on this thread!
To be fair, having seen some of the other offerings, you've let him off lightly. ๐
If I leave that he'll hole I call work I might be up for it. It's my birthday too. Which in past experiences means A&E.
Hebden.
Beer.
What's not to like.
andybrad; have you had yer car nicked?
Marc
no but i want a beer!!!!
plus i dont have a rack for the rx8 anymore
Hmmm, beer ride in Hebden or curry ride in Huddersfield. Life is good when those are your dilemmas.
andybrad; good point well made.
So. Can someone with a van please pick up andy from Brighouse, then collect me as you drive past my house on Burnley Road? ๐
sandwicheater - we have curry in Hebden. You could do both, in one place.
seems like a possibility. Come on STW some folks wanting to ride bikes and get drunk here!!!!
we have curry in Hebden.
Next you'll be telling me the streets are paved with gold!
Sadly not, just plain old moleskin.
moleskin you say, why you could make trousers from them there streets. But you'd have to make them in Hebden, nach.
More retro-tastic visuals....

thats ace!
So considering i know bugger all people from the MNR is there a secret handshake, wear a red rose type thing. Last thing i need is to ride with some of the stubbing warf lot!
secret hand shake you say?
theres no way im wearing speedos around hebden bridge......
Andy hopefully you'll recognise me after spending the weekend in a bunkhouse together at Snowdon last year ๐
Bugger, bugger, bugger. Will be in the Lakes on Monday. Shame, I did Blue Pig / Lumb Falls / Peckett Well last weekend, for first time in over a year, and realised that I had forgotten how excellent the riding is around there. Not to mention the beer! Enjoy gents
I may be slower than a slow thing as i have just done my 1st proper ride today in 2 and a half months....
did a nice 30miler with baz
It'll be reet. I may bring gears to break from the norm.
Currently on codeine n gettin my missus to rub tiger balm in to my lumbar area
So whats the plan.
Looks like it might be moist?
Turn up, ride bikes. Simple really.
It never rains in the Valley.
So whats the plan.
As above. Tempting as it is to go for a full-on hebden tech-fest, I reckon we'll stick to the tried and tested classics route. Popples-Blue Pig-Pecket Well.
Or, I could bring people somewhere more esoteric?
It will involve up obviously.
Cold start straight up the buttress? ๐
Fine by me ๐
were allowed to push right......?
Hoping to be out as soon as I find some enthusiasm
Looking like we should be riding between showers tonight. Which is nice, as I've got summer tyres on and I'm probably not going to change them.
If anyone is feeling sprightly I'll probably get a quick up/down in before the off. Will spin past CoOp carpark entrance at 7.35 to grab anyone. Ride something local. Then potter to the pub for a faff.
I'll be dressed like me.
Greg I'll try to make it down early. If I'm not there though don't wait.
train gets in at about half 7. ill potter on to the stubbin
Sorry I didn't get there had a meeting in Hebden centre but only got out at 8-50

Thanks for a nice short, flat ride. Really enjoyed it. Nice to see new folks as well.
Sorry for being a cranky sack off, but as said, baby was being a dick.
Its ok chap.
if its any help mines just turned 2. The first 18 months i spent most of my time thinking wtf have i done. ๐ Hang in there chap it gets better.
I was also really impressed that daz bought me a pint even before we set off riding! Top doo!
Photo evidence.

Has the pre-ride pint been re-instigated?
Its a delicate balance to maintain. It has been known for us not to make it out of the pub ๐
Hamstring permitting I may actually make it out at some point soon
tbh it nearly finished me off up the first hill!
It was a nice short flat route last night with beer and nice folks so its a shame they are not over this way more often.
