I was going to change my front tyre from a Maxxis Minion DH Tyre 2.35 with a 2.0 Storm Control to cut and grip more in mud, while leaving my Maxxis Minion DH Rear Tyre 2.35 on. Has anyone done this before and any opinions would be appreciated? 😀

suppose it depends where you ride - I'd have the mud tyre on the back to keep me moving, but then I ride round a large bog during winter

Have a play around, it's subjective and also depends on your riding and terrain.

I don't think I've ever had a matching pair of tyres, I really can't see why it would be a concern TBH

I think a lot of people will be repeating uplink's post, I would think about a grippier rear tyre though.

Maxxis Swamp thing 2.35 front and Minion 2.35 rear is a fine winter combo if you can accept a bit more drag.
