I was about the right age to get one just after the film 'ET' was released but somehow I never did :o(

Nice! Don't think I ever saw a Hutch in the metal. Always looked good though, I do recall Hutch having some mad priced beartrap pedals at the time, about £80 iirc?

My love affair with BMXs peaked 12 years after that, but it's a fine-looking build (and I'd happily steal the Flite cranks if I ever got a similar project going)- great build 🙂

Thanks for the comments. I shall be riding it but probably a bit slower than back in the day! You can still buy Hutch Bear Traps too, they are £199 for a new pair or originals tend to go for over 3300 on eBay! I had a Curtis Pro back in the day and wish I'd never sold it. Always wanted a Hutch though. I'm sure the wife won't mind the bike being mounted on the wall above the bed!!

I always hankered after the top end stuff, alas I was always on Burners. Did have a really terrible Puch bmx way at the start. Ended up with a rather nice but destickered bike believed to be a Redline. Actually rode really nice and light, unlike the Burners.
