I took apart my Topeak Mtn Morph and gave it a wipe down, applied some lube on O rings(wise?) etc as its been feeling rough.
Fitted new tyres at work and struggling to get pressure up on the ol' commuter.
Requires lots of force through the stroke and they're just about rideable but don't want to risk it so may have to get the train home ๐ (pretty but puncture laden commute route) What schoolboy error/s have i done?
And its such a nice day!!
any of your colleagues have one of those electric pump things in their cars you coudl borrow?
Nope and...
fire alrm
If there is a fire put your bike next to the flames, air in tyres will heat and expand, this will 'pump' your tyres up.
I wonder if it was the friction from his pumping that started the fire?

*s****s*
Right. No fire, false alarm.
Me sweating in the car park would have countered any friction leading to fires.
More pressing than life and death is 40 v 80 psi. Train v Bike.
Stop at the first petrol station on the way home?
Presta valves so garage wont help.
Most bothered about a loooong walk to a station if i puncture.

It's a lovely evening, if you puncture, go to the station via several pubs. Jobs a good'un

Trying to fix your pump on work time? Maybe its cosmic justice so you end up wasting you personal time?
Ok. Home time and i'm gonna ride.
I am fully aware of my failings. Let cosmic justice commence.
You put the one way valve in the wrong way round.
what lube did you put on the o-ring? You might have swollen the o-ring so it binds. Use something you know will be fine like silicone grease or fork oil.
andyl - are you available for private consultations on an associated matter?
Update: Not fixed it but still had a ride home fail.
My olde xtr 950 rear mech died after nearly 15(?)years. The lower jockey wheel bolt thread died IN THE the work car park so i walked to the train station/walked home.
I could not ******* believe it!!

Now that's a long commute.
