As above, I'm building up a new front wheel from the Jones. Ideally, I'd stick on a Dually or Rabbit Hole (I already have a Rolling Darryl off my Mukluk I can swap over if I was to go half-fat).
As I have an Arch lying around, I though I could use that in the short term and rebuild with a wider rim, once funds allow. In the interim, I'm wondering how viable the Chronicle might be on an Arch. I'm guessing it'll be fine run at slightly high pressure, but I'm interested in hearing any first hand experiences.
FWIW, the bike will mostly be performing bikepacking duties.
I had a Knard on a 35mm rim on my Jones initially - worked ok, when I got the Rabbit Hole, there was an improvement - but it wasn't massive. HTH
With the new breed of lightweight fat tyres coming out, I'm not sure what 29+ on the front offers over at fat front TBH.
You getting ready for the season vorlich? Are you making sure your title as "the man with the odd bikes" is undisputed?
Cheers, FRC. Maybe I'll stretch the budget and get a Dually, stick a standard 29er tyre on and pick up a Chronicle later...
BG - I am indeed, BST in less than 2 weeks!
Did I mention the Spesh AWOL forthcoming thru C2W? Spesh is 'normal', right?
