The clamping lever on my maxle is now quite loose, scews in fine but the clamp feels like either the cam or the eye has worn and is a bit floppy, is there a fix for this or is it new axle time (which would be upsetting)?

have you tried doing up the little allen headed screw inside the lever a bit?

There's a few different designs of maxle. I suspect you have the hidden grub screw one as the older one is a bit more obvious on how to adjust it. Either way it should be adjustable.
