I`ve just got my crossrides out of the shed to put on my bike and ive noticed the freehub keeps slipping ?? never noticed last time i rode the wheels which must of been 6 months or so..
Question is where can i get mavic freehub repaired/replaced ??
cheers In Advamce Tony
They're dead easy to have a bash at servicing yourself. Mavic site has some instruction that are so-so, but take them off with a 5mm hex key into the axle, pull the freehub body off. there' just two pawls with a spring under each.
At least that's the case with mine (07 or 06 models)
You'll probably find the lubricant in the freewheel has got sticky while they've been ignored in the shed. A strip and relube should see you right (oil, not grease). Loads of instruction videos around.
BE VERY CAREFUL when pulling the freehub body off as the springs under the paws can fly off. dead easy to service even i can do it :D, clean out a little circlip holds the paws in, just use a very light oil grease can be a little to thick and will cause the paws to jam
