[Closed] MapMyRide - Creating tracks/routes with less points.

I'm going to go over to France and ride to Diksmuide to watch the 3 Days Of West Flanders so I've been using MapMyRide to create a track/map.
I can export a GPX file of the track and get MapSource to load it into my GPS but there are way too any track points (7000+) for my Garmin to handle. I think it can only handle a max of 500 per track. I know there is a way to massage the track into the Garmin but I'd prefer to get the mapping software to be a bit more economical with track points on the route.
Is there a way of doing this?
