i've a spare Minute Elite TPC with the thro' axle at 120mm travel - a really liked 'em and for some stupid reason swapped them off the soul for a set of new rebas (which are very good as well)

i've also tried the absolute damped forks but found them terrible compared to the tpc ones

good - nice damping, stiff, reliable

bad - bolt through axle system slow to change compared to maxle light

worth it? - yes for the right price

Yep, what Chunkypaul said althought I thought it was the other way around - Absolutes (they are the more expensive ones, right?) better than TPC. Used 100mm coil sprung Minute Comp TPCs (damping did very little) followed by 120mm air sprung Minute Elite Absolutes (fantastic forks, damping ranging from completely locked out through 5-6 clicks to very light compression damping) . . . Yes, I know they both look the same but check out the adjusters on top. Heck, why did I sell them? 🙁

had the elite absolutes and hated them, any big hit they would blow through the travel no matter how i had them set up, would be fine for light XC duties but thats all.

sounds like a bit of a mixed bag for the absolutes ...

mamadirt: the tpc is the more expensive fork. The TPC is meant to be a good system, now Hayes have sorted out the qc at manitou..

I have got a set of 140mm minute tpc's on the way with the 20mm hex thing. will see how they go.

Neil.

I'm guessing that mine were OEM ones then as they were much cheaper than my Absolutes (coil sprung though as opposed to air in the Absolutes) and the damping did very little. Stiffness wise, the Marz 55s I'm running now are waay stiffer than the Manitous (almost the same improvement in stiffness (in the 55s over the Absolutes) as I noticed when swapping to Absolute 20mm after using a front q/r for years), but with a massive weight penalty. Wish I hadn't sold the Absolutes - I'd swap back tomorrow if I could afford a pair.

my minute absolutes were actually 29er 100mm ones and a bugger to set up air pressure wise - they either blew through their travel and bottomed out harshly or simply never achieved 70% travel and again still felt harsh and spikey - i even sent them back for work under warranty, initially on their return they did feel plusher but quickly reverted to giving me painful wrists....

the elite tpc ones are 26er 120mm and feel completely better for not having the platform system IMO

both forks were £400! sold the absolutes for £200 though
